Job Title: Structural Associate
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Position Overview: As a Structural Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the team in the analysis of residential structures. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with building codes, performing structural calculations, and contributing to the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Codes Compliance: Review and interpret local and national building codes to ensure all designs and constructions meet regulatory requirements.
- Structural Calculations: Perform structural calculations to determine load requirements, material strengths, and design parameters for residential projects.
- Design Support: Assist in the development and modification of structural designs and plans for residential buildings. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, drawings, and specifications related to structural designs. Maintain accurate records of calculations and design changes.
- Site Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure that construction adheres to design specifications and building codes. Identify and address any structural issues or discrepancies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the project team to resolve design challenges and optimize structural solutions. Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering or a related field, with a focus on residential projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of building codes, structural calculations, and construction methods for residential buildings.
