General Position Description

The Full Stack engineer’s primary responsibility is to provide end to end SaaS development in a Python, AWS, PostgreSQL environment to ascertain big-data-sets and develop the ETL technology used to clean, transform, and load data-sets to train machine learning models.  As a Full Stack Engineer focused on ETL development, you will be responsible for designing and implementing ETL processes / tools, including utilizing API scripting, to ensure the quality and governance of the data. You will be part of a dynamic team building the organization's next-generation analytics platform based on proven, scalable cloud-based technologies.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute SaaS software roadmaps for big-data architecture, analytic models, customer reporting, and integration capabilities to support evolving business needs.

  • Develop and implement ETL processes and tools, including API scripting, to collect large volumes of data from various 3rd party sources, cleanse, transform and load.

  • Develop and use big data indexing solutions, including data storage and retrieval solutions, such as AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, and Amazon Athena.

  • Heavily utilize programming skills in Python, Django, and SQL, including geospatial databases solutions and tools for DB development in PostgreSQL and PostGIS.

  • Create and manipulate API services, both internally and externally, to leverage large datasets.

  • Ensure data quality and governance by implementing data cleaning, error correction, validation, unit tests, and verification processes.

  • Develop and optimize large data-set pipelines, including cache memory, storage systems, and large data-set processing solutions.

  • Develop solutions for Agronomic data-set ingestion for Farm, Ranch and Forest such as boundary files, soil, planting, yield, fertilizer, and other soil strata applications.

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with various stakeholders, data scientists, sales, customer support, and other developers.

Key Competencies / Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

  • MUST HAVE minimum of 5 years of experience in SaaS platform software development in AWS cloud environment, with a focus on ETL processes and big data technologies.

  • Strong programming skills in Python, Django, JavaScript, NodeJS, Scripting, and SQL.

  • Experience in geospatial databases solutions and tools for DB development in PostgreSQL and PostGIS.

  • Proficiency with big data indexing solutions, including data storage and retrieval solutions such as AWS Glue, AWS Data Pipeline, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EMR, and Amazon Athena.

  • Strong work experience in developing and implementing ETL processes and tools, including extensive API scripting.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with various stakeholders, data scientists, sales, customer support, and other developers.

  • Experience in developing solutions for Agronomic data-set ingestion for Farm, Ranch and Forest such as boundary files, soil, planting, yield, fertilizer, and other soil strata applications, a plus.
