Job DescriptionJob Description

Block Restaurant in Provo, UT is looking for one executive chef to join our 30 person+ team. We are located on 3330 N University Ave. Our ideal candidate is a passionate, self motivated, creative, organized, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Train and develop cooks to company standards
  • Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange re-stock accordingly
  • Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
  • Making the schedule for BOH
  • Devolping new recipes and dishes that change with the season; about 3-4 menu changes a year
  • Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Making sure our employees and guests are taken care of

 

Qualifications

  • Experience working as a sous chef or chef
  • High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
  • Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
  • Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume
  • Must have experience in multiple types of cuisine
  • Must be able to lead and teach BOH employees in a costructive manner
  • Must know how to calculate food costing and labor spending
