Responsibilities:
- Actively assist an experienced attorney with Probate, Trust and Commercial litigation.
- Prepare and serve petitions, motions for review, motions for summary judgment, motions for discovery and other legal documents.
- Drafting and serving discovery responses.
- Assist with legal research and cite checks.
- Draft correspondence to clients, witnesses, experts, Court personnel, and others.
- Prepare case summaries for attorney review.
- Maintain litigation files, deadlines, calendars, and scheduling.
- Preparing for mediation by preparing mediation transcripts
- Preparing for settlement by reviewing disputed facts; preparing settlement offers and counteroffers.
- Preparing for appeals by reviewing case materials and other legal documents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A degree from an accredited college or university.
- Five years’ experience as a Paralegal.
- Well versed in the areas of Probate, Trusts, Guardianships and Civil Litigation
- Knowledge of standard office practices and use of office equipment.
- Excellent Typing Skills
- Professional appearance, excellent client relations skills and telephone etiquette.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Leap, Worldox, and Westlaw.
