Job Description:
Perform visual inspection of electronic components and their placement, orientation and attachment to printed circuit boards.
Determine product acceptability by comparing to inspection criteria, customer requirements and industry standards (IPC-A-610).
Familiarity with optical microscopes, digital cameras and Excel spreadsheet manipulation.
- Perform visual inspections of products including:
- Printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication
- Electronic components and their placement, orientation and attachment to PCB
- Mechanical assemblies and their placement, orientation and attachment to PCBAs
- Cables and wiring
- Determine product acceptability by comparing to inspection criteria including materials such as:
- Company designed prints, special instructions and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Departmental procedures and work instructions provided through the Quality Management System.
- Customer provided instructions and prints
- Traveler / Shop Router
- Industry standards IPC-A-600/610 Class 2
- Use of department tools and equipment:
- Optical microscope, 1.5X – 2.0X powered
- Digital camera
- Digital microscope camera
- Computer (Microsoft Office, file transfers and document/photo storage)
- Report inspection findings which are necessary to ensure accuracy of all Quality Records for product traceability.
- Support production demands in an efficient and timely manner and contribute overtime when necessary.
- Be a team player, work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Maintain department tools and equipment to ensure they are in good condition.
Preferred Abilities:
- Experience with PCB assembly of components is an advantage.
- Minimum of two years previous quality inspection experience is an advantage.
Required Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand instructions that are in written, pictured or drawing format.
- Strong computer skills including: Photo/document storage and file transfer and Microsoft Office.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and willingness to be trained.
- Good discernment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
