Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
- Promote independence and encourage participation in social and recreational activities
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as nurses and social workers, to develop and implement care plans
- Monitor and document individual's progress, behaviors, and any changes in their condition
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for individuals
- Assist with transportation to appointments or community outings
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related field preferred
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and experience in providing personal care
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate nature and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
