Job DescriptionJob Description

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, machining instructions, and work orders.
  • Operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders to fabricate parts according to specifications.
  • Set up and adjust machines for various tasks, ensuring proper tooling selection and cutting parameters.
  • Perform precision machining operations, including turning, facing, boring, drilling, tapping, and threading.
  • Inspect and measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
  • May assist with sharpening tools and performing basic machine maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Manual Machinist or in a related trade.
  • Proven ability to operate various manual machining equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, including cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
  • A valid driver's license may be preferred (depending on location).
