Marcum Search LLC is assisting our client located in RI, in their search for a full time Staff Accountant to join their growing finance division. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will enjoy a highly visible position within the company, taking on the responsibility for managing the day-to-day aspects of the accounting functions.

Hours: 32 hours a week/M-F

Responsibilities:

•             Assist with the preparation of financial statements and support schedules according to corporate timelines.

•             Help with the monthly close procedures.

•             Prepare account reconciliations (cash, liabilities, fixed assets, payroll accruals) and supporting sub-ledgers.

•             Research and resolve account discrepancies.

•             Review and process expense reports.

•             Prepares and/or reviews required tax forms with federal, state, and local government.

•             Assist with preparation of audit sampling package for external & internal audits.

•             Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.

•             Participate in ad-hoc finance-related projects as needed.

•             Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e., GAAP, FASB), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.

•             Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.

•             Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions as required.

•             Prepare documentation for external auditors.

Requirements:

•             Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

•             3+ years accounting experience.

•             Ability to work with multiple legal entities.

•             Advanced in QuickBooks.

•             Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar.

•             Experience with Paylocity a plus.

•             Excellent written and verbal communications.
