Position: Admissions Officer

Reports To: Director of Admissions

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Admissions Officer upholds the mission and vision of the school by managing multiple aspects of the Admissions process and projects including managing prospective family relationships over the phone, email, and live meetings, developing community relationships, generating new enrollment prospects, responding to inquiries, greeting guests, scheduling and providing tours, guiding families through the application process, scheduling student testing, managing all Admissions files and follow-ups with families and schools, managing database information and reporting, and administrative support. This role requires strict confidentiality in handling sensitive information, such as personal records and financial information, and necessitates maintaining utmost discretion.

Relationships and New Enrollment Prospects:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with qualified mission-driven students and families
  • Attend community events to represent Admissions
  • Support key initiatives during the Admissions season (i.e., Bridge Tours, Open Houses, New Parent Orientation, etc.)

Tours:

  • Schedule tours with families, divisions, and other stakeholders; confirm tours with all involved via calendar invitations
  • Develop and implement pre and post-communications with prospective families that enhance their experience and decision to choose MPCS
  • Serve as an Admissions tour guide, understanding all aspects of each division, and support communication needs as appropriate

Application and Admission Process:

  • Respond within 24 hours to phone and email inquiries regarding admission questions and concerns
  • Ensure clear communication regarding admission requirements to prospective families and administration throughout the admission process
  • Follow through to ensure a complete application file for each candidate (transcripts, records, letters of recommendation, etc.)
  • Guide new families through the online application process in partnership with Finance
  • Coordinate, with the assistance of division liaisons, student Shadow Days
  • Administer testing and screening when necessary
  • Prepare applications for admission file review meetings
  • Prepare and communicate letters of acceptance and denial

Database Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain the database of information through data entry (includes entering inquiries, applications, acceptances/enrollment, new student intake, enrollment documents, tracking the application documents etc.
  • Generate and run as required and requested
  • Maintain accurate and real-time enrollment data
  • Ability to work with new and emerging apps/tools/reporting software

Administrative Support:

  • Plan, organize, prioritize and execute assignments as directed
  • Database Management and collaborative tools/ records management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience preferably in an educational environment.
  • A mission-driven individual who demonstrates an eagerness to serve in a faith-based academic environment & genuine ability to connect with and serve young people in a Christian community.
  • Communications: Effective written, verbal, and editing communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
  • Collaboration: Has student-centered focus and ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, including students, families, faculty, staff, and community partners.

  • Use muscles or limbs to Lift boxes or items under 30 lbs.
  • Occasionally work nights and weekends in support of departmental school activities.
