Job Summary: Swanson Towers is seeking a responsible and personable individual to fill a part-time Security Attendant position. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety, security, and welcoming atmosphere of our front entrance. Although the position is labeled as "Security," the primary focus is on providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience for all residents and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Front Entrance: Ensure only authorized individuals enter the building, greeting residents and guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Access Control: Verify identification and manage entry for visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel, ensuring compliance with Swanson Towers' security protocols.
  • Assist Residents and Guests: Provide information, directions, and assistance as needed, creating a welcoming environment.
  • Surveillance: Monitor security cameras and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly and effectively in emergency situations, following established protocols to ensure the safety of residents and property.
  • Maintain Logbook: Record all activities, incidents, and observations in the daily logbook for reference and reporting purposes.
  • Light Administrative Tasks: Handle basic administrative duties such as answering phone calls, distributing mail, and maintaining the cleanliness of the front desk area.
  • Communicate with Management: Report any security or maintenance issues to the building management for timely resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a security or customer service role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Basic computer skills for logging activities and managing access systems.
  • Must be available to work from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a part-time position requiring weekend availability.
  • The role involves sitting or standing at the front desk for extended periods.
  • Interaction with residents, guests, and delivery personnel is a significant part of the job.
