Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Description: Better Tomorrows is a mission-focused not for profit organization. We are working to alleviate poverty by providing programs, supportive services, and case management to over 26,000 residents of affordable housing in more than 100 communities across the nation and in Hawaii and the Virgin Islands.
We are searching for a dedicated, creative and reliable individual to implement programs and services aimed at promoting Better Tomorrows five - core focus areas: Health, Wellness and Nutrition; Academic Support, Financial Literacy, Job Readiness, and Social and Community Engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors.
Location: Jersey City, NJDuties:
?\tManage all facets of programming and service delivery by working collaboratively with community stakeholders, resident association, social service coordinators, and/or the on-site community manager
?\tFacilitate/implement the following programs, activities and social services for senior citizens and people with disabilities, utilizing community resources and agencies:
?\tImplement appropriate health and wellness programs and other educational programs to promote physical and mental health, and generate a sense of well-being
?\tFood banks and financial literacy to promote economic stability and self sufficiency
?\tAssist with case management needs to enable the seniors to age in place and provide assistance with people with disabilities
?\tImplement neighborhood watch and other programming focused on building safe communities
?\tImplement community wide socialization events, to build a positive, strong community
?\tFacilitate educational programs for senior residents utilizing community resources and agencies- including planning and teaching curriculum
?\tCreate service goals and plans with residents and support residents to achieve those goals while monitoring progress.
?\tDevelop and utilize resource files for making referrals for residents in need of specific services. To provide follow-up when referrals are made.
?\tDaily use of the Better Tomorrows data system to track case management progress, demographic information, and program outcomes.
?\tPublish monthly community newsletter and calendar.
?\tProvide technical assistance to resident associations.
?\tLimited Fund development to supplement programs through grants, donations and partnerships.
?\tProvide great customer service to our partner property management company including assisting with helping residents comply with lease requirements.
?\tEngage volunteers and community partners.
?\tProficiency in Microsoft office suite and other computer software database programs.
?\tPerform other duties as requested
Minimum Qualifications:
?\tMinimum three (3) to five (5) years work experience in Social Service Delivery
?\tBachelors degree in Social Work or related field is preferred
?\tExcellent verbal, written, and inter-personal skills
?\tOrganized, reliable and flexible
?\tPrior knowledge of affordable housing and area social service resources
?\tKnowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Apps and other software programs
?\tAble to work 9-5, Monday-Friday with some occasional flexibility
?\tAbility to safely lift 25 pounds
