Position Summary

This position will be responsible for preparing the food items in the pantry, fry, grill, and any other stations requiring assistance in the kitchen. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the stating in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

·       Prepares food items to order prior to and during meal time periods

·       Slices and butchers meat, chicken, fish, cheese, produce, and other food products as needed

·       Implements portion and quality control standards of the menu

·       Examines and uses dated labels, stores incoming food supplies in storage and refrigeration areas appropriately

·       Maintains work areas in a sanitized and orderly manner in compliance with state health and safety regulations

·       Works efficiently and safely in a busy environment

·       Abides by proper food handling and preparation guidelines

·       Abides by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy

·       Keeps a positive and helpful attitude during length of shift

·       Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

·       Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position

·       Culinary or food service experience including knife skills

·       Knowledge of use and operation of all kitchen utensils including fryer, pots and pans, stove, oven, grill, dishwasher, broiler, griddle, slicers, mixers, blenders, graters, can openers, and knives

•        Proper phone etiquette while taking orders and messages

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
