The Director of Finance and Accounting is a member of the Oxford executive leadership overseeing an expanding business. This pivotal role reports directly to the President of Oxford. As the Director of Finance, you will play a critical role in managing the company’s finances, driving growth and maintaining profitability. This role is responsible for all software systems and configuration of such ensuring accurate input, audit controls and financial reporting, system wide internal control development and the implementation and audit of such, oversee staff and day-to-day accounting, annual external audit and contractual arrangements. This position requires an individual is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done with the acumen to work towards strong internal processes and controls in order to scale the business. The role requires financial planning and analysis skills with the ability to observe, create and report on KPIs to drive business review and decision making. You will bring a strong business acumen, full understanding of GAAP and best practices in accounting, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to partner successfully with internal and external stakeholders. 

 Job Duties: 

  • Responsible for analyzing, interpreting and controlling all data within the organization including accounting, KPI reporting, etc.
  • Create and oversee financial reporting, financial modeling, and forecast/budgeting reporting with clear communication of trends and results to leadership and department managers 
  • Ensure proper GAAP treatment 
  • Oversee and assist the Accounting Team in all aspects of financial and management reporting, consolidated financial statements and government reporting 
  • Monitor and analyze financial results, business metrics, and KPI’s by evaluating the performance and adherence against the company and industry targets, identifying the nature of variances and reporting insightful and actionable data to key stakeholders 
  • Create / Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable/Credit control functions 
  • Manage, mentor, lead and develop an established accounting team 
  • Ensure timely and accurate month end close including all ledger accounts and subsidiary software systems 
  • Develop and maintain effective accounting policies and procedures 
  • Evaluate and monitor internal controls to ensure integrity of financial reporting 
  • Calculation of management fees 
  • Research and implement accounting standards and prepare memos when required 
  • Work with bankers, auditors/accountants, and tax advisors 
  • Develop accounting and financial acumen amongst management throughout the organization
  • Assist process owners to assess and identify controls needed for new processes and opportunities for operating efficiencies, including the organization’s digital transformation efforts and SaaS implementation 
  • Create and assist in training Oxford staff on financial controls and process improvements 
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reports for management and investors 
  • Ability to close books within 5 business days / Year End within 30 business days

  • Qualifications: 
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented environment 
  • Proficient in Quickbooks Enterprise and Sage Fixed Assets a plus 
  • Proficient with multiple POS software within a retail or fitness setting such as Club Automation a plus 
  • Proficient with restaurant controls, software and implementation of such a plus 
  • Proficient in Windows - based software such as Excel, Word and Outlook and financial management software with advanced excel skills

  • Education & Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s in accounting, business or management; or seven to nine years related experience; or a combination of education and experience in budgeting, reporting, division accounting or business. 
  • CPA Preferred, Master’s degree (MA) Plus
