We are an essential business that manufactures small to medium sized metal stampings for the automotive, appliance, industrial appliance, safety and other markets.

The CNC Machinist sets-up, operates, and programs 3-Axis CNC Mills. A variety of numerical control machines will be added as workload dictates. Machine types include Lathes, WEDM and Surface Grinders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Programs 3-Axis Mills in Mastercam. Programs a range of materials like tool steels, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, hardened materials, and other materials as needed.
• Setup and operates all parts programmed, pre-sets all tools needed for machining operations. Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and workpiece on machine according to setup instructions.
• Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tool holders in machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
• Loads control media from network into machine control console or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from database.
• Manipulates controls, code and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine. Calculates and sets machine controls to position spindle in relationship to workpiece, and to regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.
• Conducts dry runs during setups as needed.
• Monitors display and understand machine operation to detect programming inefficiency or malfunctions such as worn or damaged tooling.
• Changes cutting tools and location of workpiece during machining process as specified in setup instructions.
• Measures workpiece for conformance to print specifications.
• Adjusts machine feed and speed to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming.
• Follows verbal and written instructions.
• Other duties as assigned.
