Direct hire- FT

$170-190K

ONSITE- one of 2 locations-Candidate choice- CT or IL

As a Principal Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our data infrastructure. You will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the development of scalable and efficient data solutions. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Azure and SQL technologies, possess strong leadership skills, and demonstrate a deep understanding of data engineering best practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience (10+ years) in data engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing solutions in Azure.
  2. Strong expertise in SQL and database design principles.
  3. Provide support in designing and overseeing enterprise-grade data pipelines and data stores
  4. Exhibit a solid understanding of database design, data warehousing concepts, big data platforms, and ETL operations.
  5. Extensive experience with Azure data services, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  6. Solid programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
  7. Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and mentoring a team of data engineers.
  8. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  9. Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on Data Warehouse architecture and development experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and/or Azure development.
