Job DescriptionJob Description

Speech Language Pathologist (Speech Therapist; SLP) to assist the Utilization Management Team in conducting chart reviews to determine the medical necessity of physical, occupational and speech therapy authorization requests. Includes process and performance improvement consulting: training, auditing, calibration session(s), and Peer to Peer support/coaching. Hours per Week will be no more than 4 hours per day (hours will vary depending on volume/needs).

Essential Responsibilities:
Assist the Utilization Management Team (Nurses and Medical Directors) in the evaluation of the medical necessity of select therapy services. Providing recommendations to the Health Plan

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Prior experience in chart review and application of clinical criteria. Prior experience with maintenance therapy services for children with chronic health conditions. Familiarity with Kentucky Medicaid Therapy Regulations

Required Years of Experience: 3 years
Required Licensure / Education: Unrestricted Licensed Therapist in the State of Kentucky
