Technical Buyer

Busy aerospace related company in the Garland area is searching for an experienced Technical Buyer. The successful candidate will have experience buying customer fabrication sheet metal, direct management of contract suppliers, involvement in buying alternate parts in a obsolescence program and have a background with helping set, select, or review technical specifications. Full time, salary. $65-$70K + benefits.

Duties to include:

• Purchase approved engineered materials and products to meet MRP generated requirements
• Analyzes the MRP Order Action Report daily to determine requirements and use this to make quantity by decisions while also considering cost, forecasts and other input as needed.
• Expedite materials as required
• Assist Materials Manager in the RFQ process for annual purchasing agreements and assist in the negotiation process.
• Works directly with Engineering on new designs, recommends which suppliers to use based on complexity of the design and overall expected volumes and acts as the interface with suppliers.
• Coordinate qualification of new vendors
• Maintain purchase order files
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience Requirements

• 2-4 years of buying experience, specifically with contract manufacturers of printed wiring assemblies, custom fabricated sheet metal and customer designed electrical components such as transformers and inductors.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
• Ability to reach and understand source control drawings and mechanical drawings
• Working knowledge of MRP systems
• Associates degree or equivalent experience and certifications
