Mine Electrical & Mechanical Technician
Hourly rate: $27.25-$35.25
Description:
1. This position is located at the Shoals, IN Mine.
2. Analyzes and troubleshoots mechanical/electrical repairs in the mine with limited to no supervision.
3. Capable of completing basic welding and fabrication of equipment.
4. Responsible for performing electrical PM’s and inspections on Mine electrical equipment.
5. Responsible for performing mechanical PM’s and inspections on Mine equipment.
6. Responsible for relamping of area lighting in the mine to ensure MSHA compliance.
7. Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing Mine electrical systems and components.
8. Must follow USG and MSHA Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
9. Must follow USG and MSHA Safety rules and regulations.
10. Perform basic maintenance and repair on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
11. Perform basic troubleshooting of PLC’s, drives, and basic wiring on Mine equipment.
Qualifications:
1. Manufacturing experience in a technician capacity involving both electrical and mechanical repairs is preferred.
2. Understand and adhere to all department and general plant safety rules.
3. Meets Essential Physical Requirements of the Position.
4. Must be able to work any shift assigned and overtime as required.
5. Successfully demonstrate the ability to perform tasks independently and within a team setting.
6. High degree of mechanical/electrical aptitude, learning capacity, and enthusiasm for self-development.
7. Must have an understanding of MSHA and NEC electrical codes and regulations.
8. Must be able to distinguish live energized parts and the working voltage of these parts.
9. Must be familiar with Electrical test equipment such as Multi-meter, Megger, Tic-Tracer, etc.
10. Must be knowledgeable with MP2 work order system.
11. Must have basic knowledge of motor start/stop circuits and troubleshooting of electrical components.
12. Should be familiar with Pilot ground systems as well as frequency monitoring systems.
13. This position will require working with voltages from 24 VDC to 34,500 VAC.
14. Must show ability to read and interpret equipment and electrical prints and drawings.
15. Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
