Murrays Cheese Lead

Position Summary:
Prepare, merchandise, and order Specialty Cheese and Olive bar items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies. Wait on customers and provide customer services with Selling through Service Skills, which includes sharing knowledge of Specialty Cheese and Sampling.
Essential Job Functions:
· Prepare and display Specialty Cheese and Olive Bar in accordance with company standards, recipes, and policies – in compliance with food safety policies and procedures.
· Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity & quality.
· Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
· Respond appropriately to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests, accidents, and questions. Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
· Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
· Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas.
· Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
· Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully.
· Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils in accordance with Dillon and Health Dept. policies and procedures.
· Increase store sales and profits.
· Adhere to all company policies & procedures, particularly in the areas of dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
· Assist as needed or assigned on special projects such as periodic inventories, store resets, remodels, etc.
· Perform any and all duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
· Willingness to learn about Specialty Cheese through training.
· Able to communicate with customers and associates.
· Effective written and oral communication skills.
· Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, bulletins, etc.
· Must work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate slicing equipment.
· Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information in a professional manner and work with all levels of the organization.
· Personal initiative and follow through to completion.
· Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willingness to help all members of the department.
· Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
· Possess abilities and skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer services related to preparation and sale of products.
Desired Previous Job Experience:
· Deli, Food Service, Restaurant, or similar work experience.
· Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
· Understanding of all key components of department operations (i.e. managing people, merchandising, inventory management, shrink control, customer services, labor scheduling, expense control, etc.)
· Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, food handling, etc.
Physical Demands:
· Standing & Walking – Frequent standing & walking. Estimated total time 7.5 hrs. Maximum continuous time up to 4 hrs.
· Sitting – Rarely required. Estimated total time 30 mins. Maximum continuous time 30 mins.
· Lifting & Carrying – Max weight 50 lbs., average weight 10-15 lbs., distance carried 1-5 feet. Must frequently lift items under 10 lbs. and items between 11-25 lbs., and rarely lift 26-75 lbs.
· Climbing – Frequently climb step ladder or step stool ranging from 1.5 feet to 3 feet tall.
· Other – This position also requires frequent bending, squatting, and kneeling, as well as constant use of either arm or both for reaching in all directions. Other requirements include twisting, neck flexion/extension, cervical rotation, frequent forearm movement, and frequent or sustained awkward wrist positions.
· Work Conditions – Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, sudden changes in temperature, cramped quarters & sharp edges.
