Job Summary

The Mental Health Aide is responsible for providing support and assistance to the Project Manager in implementing and overseeing mental health-related projects. This role involves facilitating communication between various stakeholders, providing direct support to LGBTQIA+ clients, and ensuring that project objectives align with best practices in mental health.

General Accountabilities

Assist in client assessment and intake processes.

Provide direct support to clients under the supervision of the LPC, including crisis intervention, counseling support, and referral services.

Support the Project Manager in planning, implementing, and evaluating mental health projects.

Assist in developing project timelines, objectives, and deliverables.

Help in organizing and maintaining project documentation and records.

Assist in the preparation and submission of reports and updates to relevant stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Facilitate communication between clients, family members, community partners, and the project team.

Participate in community outreach and education initiatives to promote mental health awareness and the project’s objectives.

Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities to stay updated on best practices and trends in mental health and social work.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the Project Manager and other team members to achieve project objectives.

Provide feedback and suggestions for improving project processes and outcomes.

Job Qualifications:

High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.

Previous experience working in mental health or social services settings is desirable.*

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Exerience working with the LGBTQIA+ community a must

- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

- Basic administrative and computer skills.

- Certification as a Mental Health Technician or similar credential is a plus.

- Compassionate and empathetic with a strong commitment to supporting individuals with mental health challenges.

- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

- Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

- The role may involve working with individuals who are experiencing acute mental health crises.

May require evening and weekend hours depending on the needs of the project and clients.
