Manual Machinist Job Summary

In this position, you will create parts and other components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, a drill press, a micrometer, and grinding machines.

Manual Machinist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints to determine what equipment and materials are necessary for the job.
  • Follow the blueprints to create the appropriate parts and components.
  • Operate your machines to grind, cut, and polish the materials.
  • Finish projects using manual tools.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure they remain in good working order.

Manual Machinist Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous Manual Machinist experience or earned a machinist certificate from a vocational school.
  • At least one year of manufacturing experience.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Lathe machining experience.
  • Blueprinting reading skills.
