CAD Designer

We are a 50 year old and growing, custom packaging company looking for an experienced designer with Solidworks or equivalent experience.

Skillsets

• Drafting design with various types of materials
• Ability to interpret mechanical and other related drawings
• Understanding of SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook) MS operation system
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Close attention to detail and results driven
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Duties & Responsibilities

• Able to manage other designers and assistants
• Work directly with sales staff and customers to produce drawings from models, sketches, prints, existing drawings, verbal and written descriptions.
• Adhere to company drawing standards and templates
• Operate CNC machinery for prototyping and production runs
• Work closely with manufacturing and customer service to coordinate proper information and revision levels.
• Utilize cad programs to assist with production fixtures so that jobs are accurately assembled.
• Modify existing drawings if necessary
• Layout and maximize tooling to ensure best use of materials
• Perform additional related duties as assigned or requested.

Education/Experience: Associate (Preferred) / Certification

Experience: Drafting: 2+ years (Preferred) Solidworks or equivalent required
