Our client is seeking a Payroll Associate in Elyria, OH for a 6 month contract They are an established educational institution with a need for assistance in their Payroll department.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Perform duties associated with the creation, maintenance, and update of payroll data for all college personnel, and entry into an EDP system, and the subsequent review of reports to assure the accurate and timely completion of the payroll function.
- Create payroll information for all college staff, prepare related withholding payment requests and reports, and reconcile relevant ledger and bankaccounts. Works independently and receives limited supervision from the Payroll Manager. Duties are performed in accordance with standardized procedures that allow little or no deviation.
- Ensure that payroll data for new employees are properly recorded including: name, address, rate of pay, and withholding information.
- Maintain individual payroll records; receive, verify, and record all changes.
- Post payroll and withholding data to ledgers; prepare checks for distribution to employees; transfer automatic payroll deposits.
- Prepare reports and request paymentsfor various withholding requirements, including, but
and state teachers retirement systems; credit union; united way; employee welfare benefits, computer purchases, court orders, etc.
- Maintain records and reconcile/request payment of health, dental and life insurance.
- Prepare, and submit payroll reports for various authorized organizations:
- Prepare verification of employment and unemployment forms.
- Perform other related tasks as may be required.
- Ensure accuracy of personnel records.
- Ensure that all payroll data is accurate as entered into
- Ensure that all withholding reports and payments are accurately prepared and submitted on time.
- Promptly prepare and submit payroll reports for authorized organizations.
- Problem solving. Take independent action to locate and eliminate errors that may occur in the payroll function.
TO QUALIFY
- 2 years of payroll experience
- High school graduation required; Associate degree preferred;
- Must have keen attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Basic Excel skills required.
- Data entry experience preferred.
- Should be able to work accurately with little supervision.
