Injection Machine Operator

Summary: The Injection Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic parts according to specifications. This role involves monitoring the production process, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring that all safety and quality standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate Injection Molding Machines:
  • Start up and shut down injection molding machines following established procedures.
  • Monitor machine parameters and adjust settings to ensure proper operation and product quality.
  • Load raw materials into the machine and ensure continuous operation.
  • Quality Control:
  • Inspect produced parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Perform in-process inspections and document findings.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues related to product quality.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Identify and replace worn or damaged machine parts.
  • Assist maintenance staff with major repairs and overhauls.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues.
  • Production Efficiency:
  • Monitor production output and adjust machine settings to optimize efficiency.
  • Minimize downtime by identifying and addressing potential issues promptly.
  • Keep accurate records of production quantities and machine performance.
  • Safety and Housekeeping:
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine cleaning and disposal of waste materials.
  • Communication and Teamwork:
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about production status and any issues.
  • Work collaboratively with other operators and maintenance personnel to achieve production goals.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating injection molding machines or similar equipment is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
