Job Summary:

The Woodshop Coordinator will report to the Woodshop Manager. The coordinator will support and partner with the woodshop manager and other woodshop personnel to build, laminate, ship, repair, organize and maintain the woodshop in an organized manner to support New Store Openings, ongoing store maintenance, repairs and occasional requests from Corporate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Cut and build new wooden fixtures for New Store openings.
  • Laminate and clean built furniture and fixtures for shipment to stores.
  • Work with the woodshop manager to constantly organize what is being built, what needs to be built and what needs to be repaired.
  • Maintain a list of deliverables with dates for these items to ship out to the stores.
  • Coordinate with the other woodshop personnel to pack and line up all wrapped fixtures for trucking to new stores and store refresh. Load the truck in an organized fashion.
  • Work with the woodshop manager to monitor and track essential supplies used daily and make sure items are ordered in advance to avoid delays in building wood fixtures.
  • Adhere to woodshop safety protocols standards (wear eye protection, masks when using chemicals, gloves if handling chemicals and or sharp objects).
  • Participate in weekly woodshop maintenance (general cleanup of space, removal of sawdust and flammable items from floors and work surfaces).
  • Organize and maintain the storage area of the shop in a clean and orderly fashion.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • At least one year of carpentry experience in woodworking, fabrication or related field.
  • Able to operate light machinery (wood saw, spray gun, staple gun, router, etc.) and occasionally operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management.
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to prioritize once given assignments.
  • Must have a California driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to travel to local stores and vendors to pick up supplies and or display fixtures (on a case-by-case basis).
  • Organization & Coordination skills highly preferred.
  • Thinking Skills (Problem Solving & Decision Making) constantly improve the processes we use.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Learning & adaptability traits preferred
  • Able to multi-task.

Physical/Environmental Demands:

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb to perform duties. Team Members must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to; access all areas of the Woodshop and back offices and work varied hours/days to oversee Woodshop operations.  The environment is fast paced, and day time temperatures and conditions may vary.
