Shift: M-F (40/hrs/week)
Looking for a highly skilled and motivated Lead Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our exceptional team. As the Lead Technician, you will have a crucial role in developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving our automated production equipment and departmental services. Your expertise in electrical, controls, mechanical, and inter-office skills will be applied to ensure flawless operation of our world-class manufacturing facility. In this role, you will also be responsible for driving the team forward, ensuring effective communication and regularly updating leadership. If you are a driven and experienced professional with a passion for maintenance, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact and succeed in a dynamic and innovative industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safety:
1. Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards, including ISO9001 and Cal OSHA.
2. Identify and correct any unsafe conditions related to mechanical and electrical safety.
3. Complete all work in compliance with site and state safety procedures.
- Operations Support:
1. Troubleshoot and repair production equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
2. Maintain spare part inventory and collaborate with vendors for parts and services.
3. Manage procurement plans for replacement parts or specialized repair.
4. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and adjust requirements as necessary.
5. Provide training and mentoring to ensure equipment is operated and maintained appropriately.
6. Assist in updating equipment-related SOPs to ensure accuracy.
- Continuous Improvement:
1. Identify and implement improvements to reduce costs and improve quality.
2. Participate in site continuous improvement activities, including PPI and Lean.
3. Recommend and implement design improvements for instrument products.
4. Conduct repairs and implement test methods to ensure quality and performance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree or certificate education in Engineering, Electronics, Packaging, Mechanics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years applicable work experience.
- Proficiency in electrical, electronics, and controls technologies used in industrial production equipment.
- Troubleshooting skills for automated equipment, electronics, sensors, motors, servos, and pneumatics.
- Experience with automated production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of equipment design, specifications, fabrication, installation, and validation.
- Strong mechanical skills for disassembly, repairs, and reassembly of automated production equipment.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, lubrication, electrical systems, and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of general construction, repair, and maintenance practices in a commercial environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Suite, CMMS software, and inventory management software.
- Occasional travel may be required.
