Job Summary:

Tryfacta is seeking an Accountant III for our client in San Jose, CA 95134. This is a temporary contract assignment. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please Apply Now

Position Title: Accountant III
Location: San Jose, CA 95134
Duration: The assignment has the possibility to last through 12/10/24
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Grant billing to state, federal, and local governments, namely Measure B, Congestions Management Program and Congestion Management Highway Program (total of 15 projects);

  • Reconciliation of advance accounts in Measure B and Congestion management highway programs;

  • Prepare adhoc reports for management reporting and tracking;

  • Perform project closeout (accounting perspective) – reconcile billable expenses with revenues collected;

  • Follows up with respective project managers status of grant closeout. Refer to the Capital Improvement Project Oversight report for status of the project, ensuring that the status in the accounting reports is current;

  • Prepares related footnotes for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report;

  • Prepares workpapers for the submission of the FTA Federal Financial Reporting;

  • Prepares necessary journal vouchers for the interfund transfers;

  • Performs month-end and year-end tasks in support of the SAP close.


To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field; and three (3) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience, preferably in a public agency.

  • A Master's degree in Business Administration with emphasis in accounting may be substituted for one year of experience.
