Machinist / Tool Maker

Position Overview:

The Machinist - Toolmaker at Rinco Ultrasonics is responsible for fabricating machine parts, tools, fixtures, and other components. The role involves setting up and operating a variety of machine shop equipment, including millers, grinders, and lathes. The Machinist will also inspect parts, ensuring proper dimensions using micrometers, gauges, and calipers, and monitor and maintain inventory levels for shop tools and supplies. The position requires good communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fabricate machine parts, tools, and fixtures based on CAD files.
2. Set up and operate machine shop equipment, including millers, grinders, and lathes.
3. Inspect parts and verify proper dimensions using micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
4. Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels for shop tools and supplies.

Reporting Relationships & Communications:

• Reports directly to the Head Machinist and the President.
• Interfaces with Sales Manager, Engineering, and Applications Engineer.

Education and Experience:

• 2-3 years of hands-on experience machining components.
• Experience in machining aluminum, titanium, tool steels, and stainless steel.
• Familiarity with ProtoTrak SLX (lathe) and Trak K3 with ProtoTrak SMX (knee mill).
• Experience with Collet lathe and Haas VF2 CNC Milling center.
• Ability to read CAD files, prints. AutoCAD and Solidworks a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Willingness to assist other co-workers in different areas when help is needed.
