POSITION SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for, but not limited to, performing acquisition and retirement of assets, building/maintaining asset records, recording depreciation/amortization, records other journal entries, reconciles general ledger accounts, prepares records for ERP migration, tests ERP data/processes, and performs new fixed asset functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Establishing depreciation rates and groups for assets, and recording the depreciation/amortization expenses.
• Prepare records for the ERP migration, Perform tests on the ERP data and processes to ensure accuracy.
• Building and maintaining asset records.
• Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Responsible for the acquisition and retirement of fixed assets.
• Responsible for recording and retiring assets, maintaining a detailed listing of all asset activity, and reviewing payment vouchers for capital assets.
• Processes monthly depreciation and amortization for all depreciable assets.
• Processes journal vouchers for payment voucher coding corrections and for miscellaneous property corrections.
• Prepares monthly asset detail file for accounts receivable to support billing a specific customer for capital improvements.
• Manages and maintains all asset tagging authority wide.
• Records the monthly statistical entry for capital cash flows.
• Maintains Excel asset detail listings and reconciles back to the subledgers monthly.
• Participates and assists in implementation of a new ERP.
• Prepares monthly reconciliations with moderate complexity.
• Reviews transactions, such as PCard, mileage, or travel transactions for correctness.
• Prepares both routine and ad hoc reports and data exports for internal Finance users as well as operations and management.
• Assists with the preparation of calculations for rates, overheads, allocations, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
• Must have minimum of Bachelor Degree in Accounting and 2-4 years of related experience.
• Two years of fixed asset accounting experience preferred .
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Proficient knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Title 18 chart of accounts is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office, with emphasis in Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP platform.
• Experience with Maximo.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities with outstanding customer service techniques allowing for development of strong business relationships.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Prior utility experience preferred.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Will be required to sit for extended periods of time .
• Will be required to sit, bend, stoop, and work with arms extended.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Must ensure assigned tasks are performed efficiently and safely.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & SAFETY CONCERNS:
• Work locations are primarily in office environment.
• Must abide by all GRDA safety policies.
JOB LOCATION:
• Position is located in Chouteau, Oklahoma.
• Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Highly competitive benefits package.
• Minimal day travel required, with overnight travel limited to attending training and conferences.
