Job DescriptionJob Description

Under general supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the Assistant Warehouse Manager supervises warehouse staff and assists with the operation of the warehouse (e.g. receives, maintains inventory, coordinates deliveries, organizes orders). 

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

·         Assistant management of warehouse

  •  Supervise warehouse staff -  review and approve timecards and set schedules as needed.
  •  Act as primary backup for Manager.
  • Ensure fulfillment of Sales Orders, receipt of inbound shipments, and movement of materials within the warehouse

 Receiving

  • Lead the Receiving team for inbound products. Ensure products are received in SAP/WYSIS and stored in BIN locations.
  •  Provide receipt documentation to Logistics and Inventory Manager

·         Shipments

  • Confirm all incoming and outgoing freight with Logistics and Inventory
  • Assist in shipping all outgoing orders from the Gilroy warehouse.
  • Produce Bills of Lading, and other docs for each shipment, as required by the Manager.
  • Responsibilities include final check of orders for SKU availability and freight
  • Provide shipment documentation to inventory department

Other projects/duties as assigned by the Manager.

Education and/or Experience

 

  • HS diploma or equivalent required, some college level coursework preferred, AA or BA degree in related field an advantage.  
  • At least 3 years of warehousing experience with at least one year of direct supervisory responsibilities
  • Experience with SAP Business One or WYSIS Agility a plus.

 

Other Skills, Abilities, Knowledge Required

 

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Solid understanding/knowledge of warehousing policies and practices
  • Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
  • Oral communication skills (English and Spanish)
  • Written Communication Skills (English)
  • Time Management
  • Computer literacy
  • Forklift certification or willingness to attain certification upon hire.
  • Ability to work staggered hours from 6 AM to 8 PM
  • Valid California Driver’s License

 Physical demands

 

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The work also requires the following physical abilities to perform the essential job functions:

Balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
