Summary: To serve as the Leader of Diagnostic Imaging department, responsible for the daily operations of the department including establishing and maintain policies, procedures, standards. Manage the department personnel, maintain quality assurance, and oversee patient care.

Education: Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration (or the equivalent) in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or an associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Diagnostic Imaging with 1-3 years of direct supervision responsibility.

Basic Requirements:

· Certification: All applicants must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R) (M); RI License in Radiology Technology. RT(R) (M) required

· Ability to analyze organizational, technical, and administrative problems and to develop and implement solutions that result in efficient operations

· Ability to analyze and use data effectively to manage section workload, quality, performance, and productivity

  • Skill in problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Ability to supervise technologists performing a wide variety of radiographic exams (Xray, Mammography, Ultrasound) and front office staff
  • Ability to interview and evaluate candidates for positions, evaluate subordinate performance, recommend appointments, advancements, or recommend or take appropriate disciplinary actions
  • Ability to interpret/develop financial and operational information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other related software. Experience with eCW EHR, eRAD PACs is preferred.

Duties

· Oversee the overall care of the patients while in the Radiology department

· The incumbent develops and maintains protocol manuals for procedures performed in the section. Responsible for maintaining Federal and State regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.

· The incumbent is responsible for implementation and adherence to all safety practices and policies for the section.

· MQSA and ACR Accreditations, on-site inspections

· Duties include but not limited to: Performs imaging using DR. All examinations are processed digitally.

· Responsible to the radiologist and supervisor for the quality and quantity of radiographic exams performed to assure a high level of acceptability of radiographs while minimizing patient radiation dose.

· Advises radiologist, participating providers or referring physicians of examinations requiring their immediate attention.

· Assist the administration in developing standards of performance and monitor and supervise the department staff. Hires, trains new personnel. Establish and maintain the staffing schedule. Evaluate performance and recommend personnel action. Resolve staff problems and concerns.

· The incumbent evaluates new products and equipment and makes recommendations to the Director of Operations concerning upgrades/new purchases that would improve operations. Order supplies, review and approve invoices.

 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00a.m.- 5:00p.m. and some Saturday mornings.

Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Works in clean, well-lighted, well-ventilated generally pleasant environment with frequent distractions. May be exposed to electrical and radiant energy and to unpleasant physical conditions of patients. Stands, sits, walks and lifts (medium weights) most of the day. The possibility of exposure to blood and body fluids does exist in this work environment.
