JOB SUMMARY

The Helper/Yard Person assists with incoming and outgoing deliveries, moving equipment within the yard/wash area. Assisting fueling equipment. Clean and detail equipment with the use of a pressure washer. Assist in keeping the shop clean, by such duties as emptying the trash, sweeping the floor, and maintaining a safe work area. Familiarity with heavy equipment. Must have basic computer knowledge and the ability to use a CRM system.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Employee must have the ability to speak and work well with customers and co-workers.
• Employee possesses ability to promote a friendly work environment.
• Employee can perform maintenance on equipment or building, run errands, load and unload trucks and perform all other types of unskilled work including assisting the above classes of technicians to the extent of their capabilities.
• Employee is competent in operating all types of equipment.
• Employee shall possess the necessary abilities to complete all paperwork completely and efficiently.
• Employee is capable of taking all necessary photos and emailing or texting as needed.
• Employee is capable of steam cleaning and detailing equipment as needed.
• Employee is willing to attend a minimum of 80 hours of training annually on an as needed basis provided by the company.
• Adherence to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
• Employee is willing to assist other class technicians.
• Employee is willing to perform other various tasks as needed.
• Employee is willing to drive between three locations, twice a week moving/delivering parts and attachments.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / ATTRIBUTES

• Basis knowledge of operating heavy equipment.
• Basic understanding of maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
• Ability to read, use a computer, cell phone, or tablet.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
• General analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to visually identify mechanical issues or damage to equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with team members and clients.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy parts and equipment.
• Availability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
• Ability to read work orders and instructions.
• Ability to perform tasks in a timely fashion.
• Employee must have or be able to obtain a valid DOT Medical Card.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit for long periods of time; talk and hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, tools, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in an outside, office & warehouse environment.
