Job Overview

Responsibilities for Bartender

●      Greet customers and make all guests feel welcome and get them seated appropriately with responsive, friendly and courteous service always.

●      Familiarize customers with the menu and make appropriate suggestions when requested

●      Serve food and beverages in a friendly and courteous manner while asking about any food allergies and/or dietary restrictions and then communication those special orders to the chefs

●      Check customer’s identification and make sure it complies with the legal drinking age

●      Provide high quality service to customers in a friendly and courteous manner

●      Adhere to all local and national liquor laws

●      Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following set standard recipes as well as creating new ones for consideration

●      Greet guests in a timely manner and take orders

●      Process cash and credit card transactions following appropriate procedures

●      Maintain a safe and clean environment for guests and team

●      Carry out all tasks with attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety

●      Restock & replenish bar inventory and supplies

●      Placing appropriate tableware, utensils and napkins

●      Ensure that food is served in accordance with safety standards (i.e. proper temperature)

●      Comply with all food & beverage regulations, monitor guests’ alcohol intake and identify and issues with the General Manager or manager on duty.

●      Maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude and engage with guests and other staff to create a friendly atmosphere

●      Assist General Manager with inventory and inventory control, watch for and manage loss prevention and adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices for health and safety.

Qualifications for Bartender

●      A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

●      2 years of experience in a bar or similar environment

●      Must be 21 years of age

●      Provide an updated resume with prior work experience as a bartender as well as work references 

●      Excellent customer service skills and the ability to exceed customer expectations

●      Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

●      Positive attitude, and collaborative and team-based spirit

●      Strong work ethic, with a willingness to take initiative

●      Confident, outgoing demeanor

●      Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends

●      Ability to be mobile for a minimum of 4 hours, bend, stoop and life a moderate weight up to 50 pounds

●      Food service certificate and alcohol certification (TAM) required 

●      Ability to inspect food & beverage orders for accuracy, read order forms and ensure that orders comply with the customer’s requests

●      Computer literacy and basic mathematical skills

●      Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, and mixed cocktails

●      Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

●      Ability to read and speak English proficiently

We are committed to promoting pay equity through living wages for our staff.  Rate of pay is determined based on each applicant’s individual experience and qualifications. Full-time staff will receive hourly rate plus tips, health insurance option, paid time off and staff meals.
