Job DescriptionJob Description

Our client, an architectural and engineering firm with offices across the United States is seeking a Senior Interior Designer for their Philadelphia office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Align Design with Client Vision: Ensure that the client’s vision is fully realized through both design aesthetics and functional detailed drawings.
  • Optimize Design Solutions: Develop the most effective design solution that meets the client’s needs while adhering to the company’s high standards of design quality.
  • Client Presentations: Present proposed design solutions to clients in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Professional Communication: Maintain ongoing, professional communication with the client, project team, and consultants throughout the project’s duration.
  • Scope, Budget, and Schedule Management:** Oversee the management of project scope, budget, and timeline to ensure project success.
  • Comprehensive Project Management: Handle all aspects of project management, including preparing proposals, exhibits, contracts, and monitoring project budgets and profitability.
  • Task Scheduling and Monitoring: Develop and maintain a detailed schedule of tasks required to achieve project goals and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Supervise the development of fully coordinated, high-quality design documents.
  • Studio Discipline Focus: Enhance project outcomes by concentrating on client satisfaction, design leadership, quality assurance, team engagement, communication, and project profitability within the studio.
  • Consistent Process Adherence: Utilize design tools, project management techniques, and technology to ensure consistency in project delivery across the discipline.
  • Collaborative Design Leadership: Work closely with design leaders to elevate the design quality of all projects.

Mentorship:

  • Team Mentoring: Provide mentorship to Interior Designers, offering training and leadership through project work to empower, develop, and train staff.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Professional Development: Pursue additional certifications relevant to the field.
  • Skill Enhancement: Continuously improve design skills and seek out opportunities for ongoing education related to Interior Design.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in and contribute to the local design community.
  • Client Relations: Uphold and promote the company’s reputation by maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other assigned duties as required.

  • Analytical Skills: Utilize strong analytical skills to gather and analyze relevant data, aiding in critical business decisions; use financial analysis to assess and guide financial directions.
  • Ownership Mentality: Embrace a sense of ownership in all deliverables, striving for excellence within a supportive and empowering work culture. Collaborate with and support colleagues to drive continuous improvement and understand personal accountability within the company.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Revit, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Suite (Mail, Calendar, Drive, Apps), Architecture CAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Enscape.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • Industry Experience: 10+ years of experience in the design industry, including experience in construction documentation and field observation.
  • Project Experience: Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, and/or Lab Design projects is preferred.
  • Certification: NCIDQ Certification is required
