We are a rapidly growing small business specializing in a construction niche called RF Shielding, which means we install test chambers used for research and development of new technology. This growing industry is very recession-resistant; although it is a construction job, it follows the growth trends of the tech industry. Job Description
We are looking for the bright personable professionals to be part of a Crew, working under the direction of a Crew Lead to build RF Shielded Chambers. If you excel, opportunities for advancement may be available. We are looking for a quick learner with some general construction experience and a natural aptitude for building trades. You must be a hard worker and a self-starter. You must be dependable and honest so we know we can count on you. This position requires extensive travel. You will have the opportunity to see the country, visit exciting tech-savvy areas like Silicon Valley, Seattle, and Dallas, and possibly other countries. You will be traveling with other fun, motivated individuals in a family environment.
Responsibilities
Assist Crew Leader with the following:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches
- Prepare layouts using measuring tools
- Install structural steel framework
- Build floor, walls, and ceiling
- Install insulation materials on ceilings and walls
- Install floor tile
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials
- Fit and install components and trim items
- Maintain, repair, and refurbish chambers as needed
- Keep a clean and organized jobsite
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year experience in construction or similar industries
- Possesses a natural “aptitude” for building trades, visual-spatial skills, physical ability, and manual dexterity
- Demonstrates initiative and hard-working attitude
- Experience using a variety of hand and power tools, i.e. screw guns, power saws, drills, grinders, hammers, etc.
- Able to think critically, troubleshoot, and solve problems
- Able to work independently with little supervision, once shown how to do a task. Self-starter. Self-motivated
- Able to work well with and get along with others. Team player. Friendly and personable, on and off the jobsite.
- Great attention to detail, takes pride in his work
- Able to travel full-time, away from home for 2-8 weeks at a time, or more. Must provide own airport transportation.
- Driver’s License, Passport, and Smartphone is required (passport may be obtained within 3 months of hire date)
- A cleared background check, driving record check, and drug test are required (no history of substance abuse).
Physical requirements: This job requires physical work which may be strenuous or aerobic. Must be able bend, squat, stoop, crouch, kneel, sit, stand, crawl, walk, climb stairs & ladder, reach, balance. Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or push weight up to 80 pounds. May be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions, chemical hazards, respiratory hazards, loud noise.
Benefits
- Overtime paid for work over 40 hours/week (expect to work 45-55 hours/week, on average)
- Per diem paid while working away from home
- All travel expenses, hotels, and shared vehicle paid by company, no out-of-pocket expenses

- Health insurance partial reimbursement after 3 months of service
Compensation
$20+/hour DOE starting wage AND $35+/day tax-exempt “per diem”.
