We are looking for an experienced motivated Rental Representative, the primary focus of this role is to provide the right rental equipment at the right time to Gee Heavy Machinery customers. A Rental Representative will conduct daily visits to current and prospective customers to generate leads for rental opportunities. The Rental Representative will continuously communicate with Gee Heavy Machinery team members to ensure each rental transaction provided to our customers is accurate and timely.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct regular visits to established customer offices and jobsites to ensure all rental needs are met.
  • Use systematic planning and prospecting to generate rental leads.
  • Create and present accurate rental quotes.
  • Coordinate equipment reservations with counter personnel.
  • Instruct customers on proper equipment operation.
  • Assist with coordination of equipment delivery and pickup.
  • Enter all activities into the customer relationship management system (CRM) daily.
  • Collect customer deposits, obtain credit card information or work with the customer and the credit department to create a charge account.
  • Recommend changes to rental fleet based on market knowledge.
  • Act as backup to Rental Coordinator as needed.
  • Actively participate in the meeting of department goals, including customer loyalty, revenue and gross profit.
  • Contribute to accurate customer name and address information in CRM system.

What you'll need:

  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Possess empathy and the ability to build relationships.
  • Skilled in active listening.
  • Talent for negotiating effectively with customers.
  • Skilled in using relevant software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and the organization’s enterprise resource planning system (ERP).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • 3 years of outside rental experience.
  • Prior heavy equipment rental experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
