Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining employee personnel records, and conducting payroll reporting and auditing duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate payroll processes with payroll system for both hourly and salaried employees
  • Process new hires, terminations, garnishments, deductions, withholdings, as necessary
  • Audit user data entry for completeness
  • Ensure time records are complete and processed for each payroll process and oversee reconciliation to GL
  • Works with HR team to train new employees to HR/Payroll systems
  • Reconcile outstanding list of payroll checks
  • Maintain list of uncashed checks and submit unclaimed wages as required by state
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software; prior experience with Paycom a plus

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Five years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least two years of experience in payroll
  • Fluent in Spanish plus

Travel Requirements

  • Some travel may be required as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
