This is an addition to staff for our client's growing team Great opportunity to work closely with the Controller.
Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable / Cash Applications experience is strongly desired.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the preparation of the monthly Financials with related schedules and assisting the Controller with the monitoring and evaluation of the day-to-day activities in the Finance Department. This role outside of finance and accounting is also responsible for the review and approval of field technicians’ daily time.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Controller with monthly/yearend financial closing process and preparation of schedules and analyses.
- Manage and maintain accrual/prepaid schedules, fixed asset activity and book journal entries.
- Prepare monthly comparison between actual and budget and analyze deviations to help management take the right action.
- Assist with annual budgeting process, audit requests and external CPA’s requests.
- Review and approve all field technicians’ daily hours in the field management ERP system.
- Post daily cash receipts, manage daily cash balance and AP check run.
- Monthly reconciliation of bank statements.
- Researching and correcting account discrepancies and general ledger accounts.
- Under the direction of the Controller, prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales Tax.
- Prepare and post general journal entries to Intacct accounting system.
- Establish, maintain, and improve accounting policies and principles to ensure compliance.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis where required to assist in management decision making.
- Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting required.
- 2-3 years of experience in financial reporting and analysis.
- Good computer proficiency in all Microsoft applications – Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience with Intacct accounting software a +
- Exceptional people skills, the ability to create and maintain productive work relationships with people who are not used to working with finance teams.
- Ability to manage fast-paced work processes and thrive in a dynamic and growing organization with lean structure.
