Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner for an internal medicine practice looking to support and build our patient base and contribute to the growth of the practice. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infections and injuries. Prescribing medications and other treatments. Supporting the management of patients' overall care.
Essential Functions
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations on patients
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory work and imaging studies
- Prescribe medications and other treatments
- Develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide counseling and education to patients on health promotion and disease prevention
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and quality care for patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty area (e.g., Family, Adult, Pediatric)
- 3+ years of experience
- Strong understanding HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and other nurses
