Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities and programs to support the social, emotional, and educational development of youth
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all youth in our care while maintaining a clean and organized environment
- Build positive and supportive relationships with youth and their families, promoting open communication and collaboration
- Collaborate with team members to create a diverse and inclusive curriculum that celebrates the unique backgrounds and experiences of all children
- Provide guidance and mentorship to youth, fostering their independence and self-confidence
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in youth development and education
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma, with continuing education in early childhood education, education, or a related field preferred
- DSS certification, ServeSafe, CPR, and First Aid certifications
- Proven experience in youth development and administration
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with youth and their families from diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all youth and staff
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and adapt to the needs of the program
Day-to-day
- Engage in hands-on activities and provide support and supervision to children
- Plan and execute daily schedules and routines aligned with the program’s goals
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere by actively participating in group activities and promoting a sense of community
- Communicate with parents and guardians to provide updates on children’s progress and address any concerns
- Utilize positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques to support the social and emotional development of youth
