Job Description: Speech Language Pathologist (Contract Position)

 

Location: Houston, TX

 

Position Overview:

 

We are seeking dedicated and qualified Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) for contract opportunities within school settings in the Houston, TX area. This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse student population and make a meaningful impact.

 

Requirements:

 

- Must pass drug screen and background screen

 

- Must be willing to sign a non-compete and disclosure agreement.

 

- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.

 

Responsibilities:

 

- Provide targeted speech and language therapy to assigned students, tailored to their individual needs.

 

 

- Must be willing to serve multiple campuses with the Houston area on a rotating schedule basis.

 

- Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to collaborate with educational teams and develop effective treatment plans.

 

- The contracted Speech-Language Pathologists are required to have access to their own evaluation tools and assessments to test students when required.

 

- Input time sheets accurately into the Fairbanks/Stairs program as required.

 

- Implement small group therapy sessions when appropriate to meet student needs effectively.

 

- Maintain knowledge of and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

 

- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educational staff, both orally and in writing.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Must hold a valid Texas license in Speech Language Pathology.

 

- Proven knowledge of speech-language pathology theory and practice.

 

- Strong planning and scheduling skills to manage therapy sessions efficiently.

 

- Ability to collect and analyze data to track student progress.

 

- Must provide your own teaching equipment and technology for therapy sessions.

 

Work Schedule:

 

Contract assignments may offer up to 37.5 hours per week, based on specific needs and assignments.
