Under the immediate supervision of the Director of Residential Services the Recovery Case worker assists the client in securing services that support ongoing stability and improvement of the patient’s life goals. These support services include introduction to recovery support systems (such as AA, NA, faith based, family/friends finding a sponsor, etc.); encouraging attendance and active involvement in a treatment program, when appropriate, obtaining assistance with educational goals (GED, apprentice training, etc.); medical/psychiatric appointments (enrolling patient in Affordable Health Care) and assisting in legal compliance of court requirements and other duties as assigned.
THE SOUTH SUBURBAN COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE is to create a comprehensive approach for the initial and sustained recovery of the patient.  The Recovery Case Worker and patient must create a  Plan that provides recovery support during treatment and/or post-treatment. While the Recovery Case worker will be assigned to Residential, the Recovery Case worker must be willing to coordinate between programs in order to support the patient in successfully transitioning and committing to services in different levels of care. In additions, the Recovery Case worker will be responsible to respond to requests for assistance, and answer questions from persons accessing The Council’s website and/or to direct them to an appropriate resource. In these cases, the person may not actually be admitted patients, non-ever have been an admitted patient. These functions are essential to assist The Council in achieving established goals and objectives as well as to assure efficient and effective Council operations.
