Position Summary

Must be able direct behavioral therapy to individuals ages 3 to 21, role modeling/training to parents/families, and support to child and family by promoting individualized, person-centered, service delivery which meets all identified needs of the child & family. The professional assists the child with self-help and teaching social & safety skills when applicable. Ongoing communication and data reporting to clinicians and coordinators regarding the approved program is required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of two years’ experience working successfully with children/adults in a special healthcare setting, education setting, or recreation setting. An associate or bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study may be considered equivalent. Appropriate background investigation results and clearance from the Department of Children Youth and Families. Able to work with minimal supervision. A bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, human services, special education or equivalent as well as significant experience with an individual child’s diagnoses is preferred.

Essential Functions

Implements home based therapeutic/ applied behavior analysis goals developed by the clinicians and approved by the State in conjunction with the family.
Provides socialization opportunities within home and when appropriate.
Carries out specific tasks outlined in the approved HBTS -ABA plan.
Documents progress on required data sheets and progress notes which are made available to family and clinical consultant.
Utilizes technical assistance/expertise offered by clinical consultant to family for service improvements
Provides required documentation to coordinator in a timely manner as in timesheets and incident reports.
Implements and fosters the principles of self-advocacy which promote an independent lifestyle and respect for program participants.
Assists people with learning about and advocating for their personal rights and understanding the responsibilities that accompany those rights.
Arrives punctually and participates in all required meetings and trainings.
May also participate in a program participant’s chosen activity.
May provide support to other areas of the agency, as needed.
May ensure all quality standards are met in compliance with required regulatory authority.
Reports incidents as required by regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Complete and maintain all required trainings, certifications and licensures.
Safeguards sensitive and confidential data.
Actively promotes and positively role models philosophy, mission, and core values of the organization. Treats individuals served, associates, guests and other stakeholders in a respectful and dignified manner.
Maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment by being respectful of property and equipment. Follows proper maintenance and safety protocols.
Be familiar with and actively promote all Seven Hills’ policies and procedures, the site’s program specific policies and procedures and the regulations governing the program.
