Job Details
The Employment Specialist will be responsible for identifying job opportunities, managing job
placements, and providing ongoing support to ensure successful job performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers to identify job opportunities for persons
with disabilities
• Assist partners in developing resumes, job search skills, and interviewing techniques
• Assist employers in understanding the capabilities and needs of individuals with developmental
disabilities
• Assist with job placements, training and follow up to ensure successful job performance
• Monitor job placements to ensure a beneficial working environment and successful job
performance
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure client job satisfaction
• Provide consultation services to employers regarding job accommodations and performance
evaluations
• Maintain accurate records of client services and job placements
• Establish and maintain a network of employers and job opportunities
Requirements
• Associate's degree or 48 credits in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field
• At least two years of experience in job placement services
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite
• Ability to work with persons with disabilities
