Carmela Gourmet Toast & Coffee Bar is a casual-dining coffee bar, consisting of ten locations in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Our full menu boasts an assortment of gourmet toasts, juices, sandwiches, and fresh salads complemented with our premium Costa Rican Coffee beans harvested at our El Cuminate Farm. Our stores offer an inviting atmosphere where patrons find themselves “at home, away from home.”

We are currently seeking Part time and Full time Barista, Cashier and Shift Supervisor, self-motivated individuals to join our growing team. We are seeking hard working individuals who share our passion for providing a great customer service while serving our coffee and food menu.
This position will be responsible for providing quick and efficient service to customers in a fast-paced environment. Duties will include greeting customers, taking food and beverage orders, serving food, stocking counters, and completing transactions on point of sale system. With training, you will become a product knowledge expert and be able to clearly communicate Carmela's product offerings to customers in a friendly and non-pretentious manner. Training will also be provided for preparing and serving specialty coffee drinks in accordance with Carmela standards for quality and consistency. As part of a team, this position will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities including, but not limited to, cleaning of serving counters, floors, equipment, bathrooms, trash removal, cleaning customer areas, and other duties as assigned.
We expect our Team Members to always:
    •    Be honest, reliable, and maintain punctual attendance
    •    Maintain a positive attitude at all times
    •    Smile and speak to customers with an enthusiastic tone
    •    Maintain cleanliness and neat appearance of shop and self
    •    Develop a maintain a strong knowledge of the Carmela brand, coffees 
    •    Be willing to learn continually and follow processes precisely
    •    Work as part of a team in any assigned position regardless of preference
    •    Communicate effectively and often with fellow Team Members and Owners
    •    Hustle and work with a sense of urgency at all times
    •    Be proactive and always find things to do
    •    Follow Carmela's Guidelines and policies and procedures including health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
This position will require previous experience handling cash and working in a fast-paced customer facing position (i.e Barista, Server, Cashier, Hostess,). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
