Summary:
The Robot Programmer will be responsible for programming robots and ensuring their optimal functionality. Experience with FORD, STELLANTIS, or GM standards is highly advantageous.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review drawing packages to ensure the correct interface and verify application compatibility.
  • Power up and calibrate robots.
  • Download and install OLP programs (Offline Programming).
  • Set up Binding Table/I/O and configure Robot D-Net/I/O Communication.
  • Teach robot path programs for various tasks including welding, material handling, and maintenance.
  • Set up signals between Robot and PLC interfaces.
  • Debug programs at slow speed and verify signals to and from the PLC.
  • Mount hard stops and set up software limits to match these stops.
  • Collaborate with PLC programmers to debug auto-repeat cycles.
  • Assist pipefitters and electricians with robot dressing issues.
  • Verify weld spot locations by running metal and making necessary adjustments.
  • Document changes to robot programs and end-effector sequences.
  • Support FIS/Tech Review during the 20-hour/2500 cycle run.
  • Assist with customer buy-off and participate in TR studies.
  • Backup robot programs and parameters to a secure drive.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental regulations while identifying and addressing concerns.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and quality system adherence.
  • Act as a representative during installations in the field, ensuring proper conduct and professionalism.
  • Provide backup documentation to the Robot Leader post-installation.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience or training in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts, including geometry, trigonometry, and statistical inference.
  • MIOSHA Training certification is required.

Work Environment:
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles; moderate noise levels.

Travel Requirements:
Occasional local travel to company facilities, customer, or supplier sites.
