Job Title: Pest Control Technician

Job Overview: As a Pest Control Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting premises for evidence of pests, determining the type of pest, and implementing appropriate control measures to eliminate infestations. Your role will involve a combination of fieldwork, client interaction, and administrative tasks to ensure effective pest management and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Inspections: Perform thorough inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify signs of pest infestations, including insects, rodents, and wildlife.

  2. Identify Pests: Determine the type of pests present, assess the extent of infestation, and identify contributing factors such as entry points, nesting sites, and environmental conditions.

  3. Implement Control Measures: Develop and implement customized pest control strategies tailored to the specific needs of each client and the nature of the infestation. Utilize a variety of methods including baiting, trapping, spraying, and fumigation.

  4. Apply Pesticides Safely: Handle and apply pesticides in accordance with industry regulations and safety standards to minimize risk to human health, non-target organisms, and the environment.

  5. Provide Consultation: Educate clients on pest prevention techniques, sanitation practices, and structural modifications to deter future infestations. Address client concerns and provide recommendations for long-term pest management.

  6. Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of inspections, treatments performed, chemicals used, and follow-up visits. Prepare reports for clients and regulatory agencies as required.

  7. Collaborate with Team: Coordinate with other pest control technicians and support staff to schedule appointments, share knowledge and resources, and ensure timely response to client requests.

  8. Adhere to Regulations: Stay informed about local, state, and federal regulations governing pest control practices, pesticide use, and safety protocols. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

  9. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving complaints, and maintaining professional conduct at all times.

  10.  Additional Service: Be the helping hand with some specific additional services such as Exclusions, Termites and other wildlife specific work as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in pest control is preferred.
  2. Prior experience in pest control or related field is advantageous.
  3. Knowledge of common pests, their behavior, and control methods.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
  8. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  9. Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required.
  10. Comfortable working in attics, roofs and crawlspaces

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in outdoor environments.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Fieldwork conducted at various locations including residential homes, commercial buildings, and outdoor environments.
  • Exposure to chemicals, pesticides, and potentially hazardous conditions; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
  • Flexible work hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required to accommodate client schedules and emergency situations.
