Job Title: CNC and Manual Machinist

Classification: Nonexempt, Full-time

Salary Range: $25-$30 per hour based on experience

Must have a flexible work schedule for potential rotating staff

Reports to: Operation Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • CNC mill set up and operator, manual knee mill set up operator, and manual surface grinder.

Job Responsibilities

  • CNC machining of details as needed when required.
  • Manual Toolroom machine operator.
  • Machine grind blocks to sized and drawing specs.
  • Machine tool and die sections according to drawings.
  • Complete CNC mill machining task according to the customers plan and ensure the machining quality.
  • Plan out the work before starting to ensure all work can be done in as little set ups as possible.
  • Responsible for maintenance of machines, tools, and keeping the working environment in line with 5S standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and guidelines 5S practices.
  • Complete tasks assigned by superiors and report the work status regularly.
  • Must be able to handle and operate all hand, pneumatic and other tools associated with the trade in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 5+ years’ experience of CNC Mill(1.5/ 3/ 5 meters operation)
  • Skilled operation with gantry CNC mill to complete large-scale die
  • Knowledge of safety manufacturing management
  • Knowledge of stamping die structure
  • Knowledge of Tool room machine operation
  • Knowledge of reading 2D drawings and machining symbols GD&T
  • Ability to occasionally lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  •  Ability to remain standing for the duration of your shift.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, vapors, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
  • One year of related shop experience.
  • Training in general safety awareness and practices.
  • Ability to use/read tape measures. Working knowledge of using calipers & micrometers a plus.
  • Ability to read and write English, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Simple shop math.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Two or more years of related shop experience, preferably in a metal fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  •  Quality system awareness.
  • Proficient using a PC in a Windows environment.
  • Some experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel, and label printing software.
