Tax Supervisor | Public Accounting | Remote* | $110k - $120k + Bonus

*Hybrid or Remote options available for the right candidates – Must be in the region - Illinois/Wisconsin/Minnesota

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Tax Supervisor to join our client’s growing team. As a Tax Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing tax compliance and consulting services for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Job Duties:

  • Supervise and review the preparation of complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Lead and manage tax planning and consulting projects, including entity structuring, transaction advisory, and tax optimization strategies.
  • Research and interpret tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities for clients.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business objectives and provide proactive tax advice tailored to their needs.
  • Review and analyze financial statements, accounting records, and other relevant documentation to support tax positions and recommendations.
  • Mentor and develop tax staff, providing guidance on technical issues, professional development, and client service best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong relationships and delivering value-added solutions to address their tax challenges.
  • Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and industry trends, and communicate updates and insights to clients and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation required.
  • 4+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax compliance and consulting.
  • Strong technical proficiency in federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with tax planning strategies, including entity structuring, M&A transactions, and international tax matters.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research complex tax issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to lead and motivate a team of tax professionals.
  • Proficiency in tax software applications (e.g., CCH Axcess, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of taxation.
