Contract: Interim Controller | 9652
Our client in Fort Worth is seeking a Controller on a contract basis.
Duration: 2mths
Location: Fort Worth (121 Near Haltom City)
Maintain the company’s financial control and production environment
Day to day responsibility for the accounting and finance functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Treasury, and Cash Flow Planning. Maintain operations of warehouse and office including HR function.
ERP system is Quickbooks Enterprise
The Controller reports directly to the owner/president of the company. In short, the Controller will have his/her finger on the pulse of the entire business and be a genuine partner of the business.
Planning responsibilities, spanning multiyear plans, the annual budget and target setting, and financial forecasts. She/he will develop key financial metrics and scorecards to track overall business performance. He/she will issue financial and management reports, monitor financial performance.
The Controller will be responsible for accounting procedures, controls, and the safeguarding of assets. She/he will direct accounting practices and policies, prescribe the systems and procedures to be followed in the compilation of accounting and cost data, and direct the maintenance of the general books.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead planning, including short and long-term forecasting and budgeting. Analyze performance of actual vs. prior year and plan and report findings and recommendations to senior and line management. Initiate, coordinate, and direct activities resulting in accurate and timely financial forecasts.
- Provide financial and business insight
- Continuously improve accounting systems and procedures to ensure that the accounting records provide accurate and timely information.
- Ensure all financial statements are timely and accurate.
- Ensure the integrity of the Company’s balance sheet. Ensure sufficient controls and processes are in place to identify areas of concern.
- Oversee the inventory control function, including frequency of cycle counts and/or physical inventories that are executed at the divisional level, and ensure accurate costing controls relate to cost of goods sold and merchandise income.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees employees responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, and budget preparation.
- Implements internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities.
- Oversees employee training programs and identifies training needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Confirms accuracy of and oversees the production and distribution of scheduled financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
- Oversees the preparation and distribution of management financial statements, activity reports, financial forecasts, financial reviews and annual budgets.
- Ensures that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards.
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts; audits and reports significant budget differences to management.
- Reviews financial details from past, present, and forecasted operations; identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made.
- Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
- Provides management with short- and long-term financial objectives.
- Advises business units and departments on and assists with implementation of accounting and budgeting policies and practice.
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations and tax requirements, and accounting standards.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, reporting packages, and related software, and specialized accounting software used by the organization.
Required Experience: 10 Years + of progressively responsible finance experience, a portion of which will have been in a distribution intensive company; Financial planning and analysis experience
